The Man Who Was Left Behind

Sunday, as in yesterday, we shot some test footage for a movie idea. We don't have a script, or a title, but we have a location.

The idea for now is about a pilot who crash lands in the middle of nowhere and finds an abandoned airport terminal and takes residence there as he struggles to survive.

We shot it "Po Buget" style (as in poor budget -- no lights -- bad camera -- no production value). We are in the process of doing a quick edit... of what took place that eventful day.

Taking a look at the feature-length script: "The Big Push". I thought I had written 30 pages... I barely have 20. Let's see how far I get this weekend.

Tried to hire a screenwriter to complete it... turns out... they want money. I've gotten quotes from $2,000 and up. One person had just sold a script for like $95,000. I've contacted like 20 screenwriters (and still have like 50 I haven't responded to) and they are all in agreement about the whole money thing. Not that I don't think they should get paid... just that, we're not Sony or the Weinsteins.

One person was willing to do a draft for just a few hundred bucks. Which was more than fair, but no one knows this material more than we do. Even the more expensive writers that contacted me from LA and NY do NOT understand what the hell we're trying to do here. So, that's where I'm at.

Spoke with a local producer the other day and he told me why don't I sell my own scripts. I was like... oh, ya?! I have at least 2 complete scripts I don't intend to produce anytime soon. Someone else can have it... I mean buy it.

Just gotta figure out how to sell the durn things. In the mean time, let's see about finishing the one we intend to make. And, I guess... sell one at the same time.

We are working on a feature length movie about two arcade salesmen. More info below...

THE BIG PUSH:
After being fired from their day job, Chester and Willie form a startup company selling arcade machines. However, when their partnership goes belly up, and Willie abandons everything, Chester cuts his losses and decides to give his fledgling company one last big push.

Status: In Development
It is based off of the 7minute short we produced below, entitled: "C@CK BLAST"

I've been going through an old laptop (which has win98 on it). And have been using floppy disk drives to try to extract some old scripts. Some of them feature length movies!

But, some of the scripts I have located are to the shorts below:

Old scripts and production notes to stuff we filmed (and some in hiatus).

RED KRISTMAS
3 Wiseguys discover a miracle on Christmas Eve.
What's different in the script? Not much. The chase sequence in the movie is longer. But, it's probably the only script we actually followed word for word. Actually, the "NBC Special segments" are not in the script either. That's about it. Wait... as I'm watching the movie again... I realize we didn't really follow the script exactly.

SCRIPT | MOVIE

SA (aka E.T.2)
Boy finds an alien of a different persuasion in his shed.
What's different in the script? SA learns English watching Scarface (or some other lame show), he gets sick by drinking bleach and in the end it isn't just Elliot that says goodbye to him... Some hillbilly in a truck... with the funniest line... I think...

Our entry to the Filmmaking Frenzy Video Game Competition. Create a trailer to a movie based on a video game. Any game... provided it hasn't gotten the film treatment yet.

We chose: Dig Dug (or Dig Düg in German)... why? That's inconsequential at the moment... the point is our friend from Germany is in it...

I may post an alternate cut on here soon. One where our friend actually speaks (in German!).

So, I'm working downtown... minding my own business... walking on Congress Street looking for a place to go for lunch.

Those big Film Trucks are outside again (near the Paramount Theater). I see a co-worker and he tells me,"Ya, Robert Rodriguez is in town. They're shooting Machete over here."

I was like, ya, cool, whateva. I walk by the filming location... and having worked on some feature film sets before... I know how easy it is to just waltz in and get "on location".

So...

I did.

They're shooting a press conference scene where someone is going to walk up to the pulpit thing and answer questions. So, I kinda blend in easily (in the background).

But, I try to stay out of people's way, while pretending like I'm suppose to be there. This girl walks up to me (who, I think I've met before) and says,"DeNiro hear yet?"

I laugh nervously... as she clearly is insane.

Next thing I know, they roll cameras and who walks down a flight of stairs?

Robert Fucking DeNiro. I was like Holy Crap!

I tried my best to remain calm, but this was sooooo... unexpected. As they're filming the scene... I tried to see if I can get a picture of him... but it's so far. And I was trying not to get noticed.

So, they shoot the scene and I guess the jist is... DeNiro plays a Senator in this one.

Long story short, this is the best picture I got. And unfortunately, I probably wouldn't be the best photo journalist and I would be fired from TMZ for submitting something like this... but it's the best I could do.

And now...

...my lunch is over.

Behind the scenes stills.
First, big shout out to Zachary Herigodt (seefarphoto.com) for his work as DP for the 2 videos we shot in San Antonio last month. The pics you're looking at are stills taken from the shoot also by Zack.

The rappers are Triple S & Affyzzle (Cle De Sol Entertainment) and they're from the Ivory Coast. The 2 videos are currently being edited through our sister company LoscarStudios.com.

Apparently, I am not able to complete the new site renovation. If there is anyone out there who knows someone that would be interested in helping us finish the new site, please write to us. We would welcome that... It's kinda half done... just need someone to finish it.

:: VIDEO GAME CONTEST

So the G4 Cable Channel and Fantastic Film Fest (aka Alamo Drafthouse) is having a contest where you produce a trailer to a video game.

Some of the rules:
1. 2minutes total running length max
2. It's got to be a video game that hasn't been made into a movie yet.
3. It has to be PG-13'ish
4. No copyrighted stuff, music, logoes,(obviously)...

That's about it. We ain't for sure what we're going to do... but it's due the first week of Sept. More info on the contest here.

We Got Screenshots

Here is the first glimpse of the music video shot over a week ago now.

We'll be editing stuff and whittling it down throughout the week. As, I've got an entirely different music video shoot this weekend.

So, in regards to "Section C" Video... we'll be finishing that up soon. But not this weekend. Some other time. If anyone is interested in scheduling a premiere date let me know (I'm looking at you Lennings). If you want, anyway.
